Hey big guys,
hey there trees!
We walked to you today,
you made our air fresh,
our smog-filled air, fresh.
Fresher than our pavement,
we know the forests smirk.
Hey big guys,
hey there trees!
There are peaks upon peaks of you,
rolling rivers of green,
birds swooping in and out.
Larger than our city blocks,
in our minds' smallest spaces.
And you!
Oh trees,
it's humid out and our bodies sweat,
but there you are existing.
And deep in the forests are people whose normal is this,
we barely escape our cities for a moment.
